Welcome to the 2015 90 Degree Show Week 13! This week is the one and only Bayou Classic with Grambling State University and Southern University. We talk about the show Friday night and the Halftime show the next day. We also got a chance to see the old Soul Bowl with Jackson state and Alcorn State University. Did these contests have the usual results? The hosts also discuss if it would be best to have a format to follow to award a winner of our Battle of the Bands. We also talk about an article written by a Gary Chambers titled. ‘Why doesn’t Southern Receive Funds from the Bayou Classic Battle of The Bands’ to help bring awareness to the financial side of the event. Who is making the money in these events? Tonight we welcome the great Christy Walker and the owner and founder of Block Band Music and Publishing, Rashad Watters

We go to homecoming at JC Smith, Jackson State, and we watched some footage from Chavezz Anderson at Delaware State. The battle between Southern and Texas Southern and the halftime with North Carolina Central and Morgan State. We will also ask the listener about polls to judge band battles, should we use them or not? Tonight we welcome the great Christy Walker and the owner and founder of Block Band Music and Publishing, Rashad Watters.

The 90 Degree Show 2015 Week 7

Welcome to the 2015 90 Degree Show Week 7! This week we talk about Jackson State vs. Alabama A&M, the fifth with Tuskeegee vs. Stillman. Southern’s Homecoming with Prairie View A&M, and the fifth between North Carolina A&T Bethune Cookman. The directors Carlton Wright and Mario Warren from Alabama A&M call in while they listen to the show, Otis Jefferson went to Savannah State’s homecoming and tells us how the band is doing after this past week, Chris Jones calls in to talk about he saw with the Boom from this week and John Lennard the Director at Tuskeegee calls in and explains to us about the home side of the field and why it looks so different. Lastly we talk about an salaries for band directors in the state of Texas.

Choppin It Up with Michael Cowans

Introducing Michael Cowans. Michael is the Director of Bands at Fairley High School. Michael also serves as the head to the Fine Arts Department, an arranger and an adjudicator. Michael during his time in college was in a famous battle against our host and has an interesting story on the school he earned his degree. Tonight we find out where Michael is from and he tells us a great story of how he got into and finished college.
